From the War of 1898 to the 9/11 attacks, the United States has undergone dramatic transformations over the course of the 20th century. Students in the seminar will conduct original research on an individually-chosen topic and will write an article length paper. We will focus on identifying a realistic project, engaging relevant secondary sources, completing basic research with primary sources, and the different stages required for a successful writing process.
