NSCI 401 - Senior Seminar Brain Basis of TimingFC NSMA WADV 4 credits Timing is everything goes the old cliché. Despite its importance, how we and other animals keep track of time is a mystery. How does the brain do it? This course will examine the primary literature on these results. It is designed to help students consolidate what they have learned in neuroscience, and to teach them how to propose new research drawing on techniques and findings from some or all of the following fields: molecular and systems neuroscience, physiology, pharmacology, animal behavior, and mathematical/computational modeling. Students will practice close reading, discussion, presentation, writing, and a little bit of computer programming. This course is restricted to senior NSCI majors only.
