NSCI 457 - Senior Seminar Mind, Brain, Eyes, and EarsFC NSMA WADV 4 credits Our perception and understanding of the world around us is inextricably tied to the information arriving through our senses. This seminar will focus on how sensory perceptions are formed in the brain and how these perceptions interact with our daily living. Topics will include how the neural processing of sensory information contributes to our appreciation of art and music, how our perceptions are shaped throughout development and by experience, how information from different senses are combined, and how disruptions in sensory perception can impact and contribute to neurological and psychiatric disorders. This course is restricted to senior NSCI majors only.
