SPRT 201 - The Meaning of MovementFC SSCI 4 credits Sport culture in the United States has been characterized as the Pyramid Model, in which striving for elite competition is the guiding purpose. However, few sport participants reach the elite level. In this course, we will examine the purpose of sport and physical activity through a more expansive lens. Guided by an interdisciplinary framework, students will practice, examine, and critically reflect on ways of understanding and expressing experiences of physical movement through engaging in and facilitating physical activities and art-based reflection. This course involves community-based learning.
Community-Based Learning This course is appropriate for new students.
