PACE 109 - Music Advocacy and Administration

FC CNDP
4 credits
This course investigates the role of music advocacy within the broader contexts of cultural life, public policy, and arts administration. Through study of non-profit music organizations, students examine how governance, funding structures, and institutional missions shape access to the musical arts. Emphasis is placed on the musician’s civic responsibility and the capacity of music to influence social and political engagement. Integrating theory with practice, the course explores advocacy strategies, community partnerships, and policy frameworks that support the arts, culminating in the design and implementation of a personalized advocacy plan addressing real-world issues in music and society.
