CMPL 224 - Passport, please: Mobility, Borders, and Freedom of MovementFC ARHU CD 4 credits This course explores literature and visual arts concerned with passports (acquiring and losing them), borders (crossing and policing them), mobility (from leisure travel to forced displacement), and belonging (somewhere, everywhere, or nowhere at all). We will develop critical tools for reflecting on our own relationship with travel while understanding the broader dynamics (cultural, political, historical, legal) at play in the experience of crossing and not crossing borders across modernity. Taught in English.
