AAST 345 - Toni Morrison: Seminar on Centering Black GeniusFC ARHU CD WINT 4 credits Toni Morrison (1931-2019) is the first African American woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature (1993). This course will focus on her novels, essays, and scholarship, engaging in a close reading of Ms. Morrison’s commentary on American racial and cultural politics, the power of writing Black lives, and the potential of arts and humanities to change the way we view ourselves and the world we inhabit.
