TECH 212 - Creative Recording and Live Sound

In this course, students will develop professional practices in studio recording and live sound reinforcement. The course introduces foundational recording and live sound techniques while emphasizing innovative, nontraditional, and experimental approaches. Students will learn the basics of microphone types and placement, signal flow, gain staging, multi-track recording, and mixing fundamentals. Through hands-on projects, collaborative experiments, critical listening, and creative assignments, students will develop both technical fluency and a personal creative methodology for working with sound in studio and live contexts.
