TECH 354 - Makerspace

This is a skills-based class that introduces the equipment in the TIMARA Makerspace. This class is designed for majors who wish to gain the knowledge and skills for the tools and materials in the Makerspace, including: soldering, 3D modeling/printing, laser cutting, vinyl cutting, sewing/embroidery, and soft circuits with the Arduino Lilypad. The first half of the semester will involve weekly technical assignments; the second half will shift focus to a larger-scale, individual creative project. This final project gives students the opportunity to explore and expand their new skillsets within their personal artistic practice.
