ARTS 049 - Visual Concepts and Processes: Sculpture

3 HU
Second Semester. Referencing your own body as it traverses daily through time and space, students will explore the basics of three-dimensional space. Using paper, cardboard, plaster, wood and found objects in addition to form, texture, sound, scale, and proportion, students will complete three major projects. Weekly homework assignments will expand upon classroom projects. Although craft and technique are important, they are not a driving force. Required forms of participation also include critiques, weekly discussions, and reading assignments. A sketchbook will be required. Students should expect to spend 12 hours per week outside of class to meet the minimum requirements.
