Private Study Committee Examinations

First Major Committee

The first major committee consists of four prepared songs. During the committee, the student will select one song to perform and the voice faculty will select a second song from the four songs.

Second Major Committee

The second major committee consists of six prepared songs. During the committee, the student will select one song to perform and the voice faculty will select a second song from the six songs.

Production Requirements

Crew/Backstage

Students are required to assist backstage, or in the creation of, at least one Oberlin Music Theater production. This requirement can be fulfilled in either the fall or spring semester.

Onstage

Students are required to appear onstage in at least one Oberlin Music Theater production. This requirement can be fulfilled in either the fall or spring semester.

Performance Requirements

Senior Recital/Showcase

The senior showcase is a performance resulting from a collaborative process where each student will act, sing, create, and design at the highest level to form a complete showcase performance.
