Student Health Promotion and Prevention Services

Student Health Promotion and Prevention Services (SHPP) adopts a comprehensive approach to wellness based on SAMHSA’s Eight Dimensions framework, encompassing emotional, physical, social, occupational, intellectual, financial, environmental, and spiritual well-being. Through targeted programming in stress management, community engagement, and specialized support service, including medical leave assistance and reintegration protocols. SHPP recruited Wellness Ambassadors to promote overall students’ wellbeing by working with their peers to increase awareness of wellness resources on campus and provide support, workshops, and outreach. They empower their fellow students to thrive in all eight dimensions of wellness.

SHPP provides two personal vending machines and seven dispensers with condoms, lubricants, dental dams, emergency contraception pills, pregnancy test kit, pads, tampons, naloxone kit, and drug test kit at no cost to students. In addition, this office provides Question, Persuade, and Refer (QPR) training for staff, faculty, and students to equip them with skills to recognise signs of distress or suicidal ideation, initiate support a supportive conversation, and guide individuals toward appropriate resources for help.
