PHYS 321 - Introduction to General Relativity FC QFR 4 credits Einstein’s theory of gravitation, general relativity, lies increasingly at the forefront of modern theoretical and observational physics. This course will serve as an introduction to the physics of curved spacetime, with topics including black holes, gravitational waves, and the large-scale structure of the universe. We will also introduce and apply the mathematical tools of differential geometry, which constitute the language of general relativity and much of modern theoretical physics.
