HIST 910F - London, England, Britain: National Identities and Their Discontents FC ARHU CD WINT 4 credits This course will use historical, literary, museological, and archival approaches to examine the formation of national identity/identities in the UK, focusing on the ways that London, England, and Britain present different (often conflicting) definitions of the nation. The course will make full use of London as a site of documentation and testimony. It will also draw on visits by cultural studies scholars, writers, and filmmakers who have reflected on all the categories London, England, and Britain at length. British, Post-1900.
