LATN 309 - Petronius and Apuleius: The Latin Novel IIFC ARHU CD 4 credits In this course we will study two Latin novels, Petronius’ Satyricon and Apuleius’ Metamorphoses (better known as ‘The Golden Ass’). We will engage the complex stylistics of the Latin, as well as the critical tradition concerning the genre of the novel in general, and the ancient novel in particular. Prerequisites & Notes: Course meets concurrently with LATN 209. Intermediate students should enroll in LATN 209; advanced students should enroll in LATN 309. Course requirements will differ according to level.
