RELG 249 - Medical EthicsFC ARHU 4 credits This course offers an analysis of selected issues in medical ethics and the methods of reasoning used to assess these issues, focusing on attendant religious, moral, and legal questions. The orientation of the course is clinical, with case studies used throughout. Topics addressed include issues such as death and dying in a medical context; privacy and informed consent; genetic testing and manipulation; medical research on vulnerable populations; organ procurement and transplantation; and global infectious diseases. This course is appropriate for new students.
