PSYC 306 - Advanced Methods in PsychometricsFC SSCI QFR WADV 4 credits Psychometrics is concerned with linking unobservable psychological phenomena to observed scores. This course will introduce students to a variety of psychological measures, with a focus on those used in personality psychology. We will discuss various topics related to measurement including test construction, construct validation, and methodological and ethical issues associated with administering and interpreting scores. Over the semester, students will develop the theoretical and statistical knowledge necessary to formally assess the psychometric properties of existing measures and will develop and validate a novel self-report questionnaire. Prerequisites & Notes: Prerequisites: (PSYC 200 and PSYC 300) or permission of instructor.
