ITAL 402 - Contemporary Italian LiteratureFC ARHU CD 4 credits In this course we will examine trends in contemporary Italian literature such as the giallo or crime thriller, the negotiation of national identity in a newly multi-cultural society, and the representation of mother-daughter relationships. We will read works by Dacia Maraini, Andrea Camilleri, Gianrico Carofiglio, Antonio Tabucchi, Amara Lakhous, and Elena Ferrante, among others. Readings, short papers, and discussions will be in Italian. Prerequisites & Notes: ITAL 302 or equivalent.
