MATH 318 - CryptographyFC NSMA QFR 4 credits This course covers the mathematical foundations of modern cryptographic systems. Along with building the necessary number theoretic and computational tools, the focus will be on Public Key Cryptography, including systems based on discrete logarithms and on integer factorization. Additional topics may include the history of cryptography, the Data Encryption Standard, elliptic curves, and lattice-based cryptography. Prerequisites & Notes: Prerequisites & Notes: MATH 220. CSCI 150 should be taken prior to or concurrently with this course.
