PHIL 204 - EthicsFC ARHU 4 credits In this course we will explore issues that arise in developing a philosophy of morality. Considering approaches by philosophers like Aristotle, Hume, Kant, and Mill, and by more recent thinkers like G.E. Moore, Charles Stevenson, John Rawls, and Peter Railton, we will explore some important ethical theories and examine concepts like subjectivity and objectivity, rationality and self-interest, and the nature of morality. (V) Prerequisites & Notes: One course in Philosophy.
