CAST 335 - Latinx Oral HistoriesFC SSCI CD WADV 4 credits This advanced course introduces students to the importance of oral histories in ethnographic research as a foundation to explore the histories and contemporary experiences of Latinx communities in Lorain and Northeast Ohio. This class will focus on theories, practices, and ethics involved in oral history and ethnographic projects in order to equip students with the necessary tools to understand the distinctive role that personal narratives play in capturing the complexity of Latinx life in Northeast Ohio. We will collaborate with community partners in collecting oral histories and locate these histories in a broader historical and political-economic context. Field trips required. Prerequisites & Notes: CAST 100, 200, or equivalent Community Based Learning
