HISP 451 - Puerto Rico Post-Mortem: Nation, Identity, and Language in a Non-Sovereign Territory LxCHC ARHU CD 2 credits This two-credit course, in Spanish, will expand and complement the discussions in HISP 450 by focusing on classic culturalist interpretations of Puerto Rican identity and the islands political conundrum from the 1930s to the 1990s. We will read texts by Antonio Pedreira, Isabelo Zen, JosLuis Gonzez, and Juan Flores, among others. Taught in Spanish. Prerequisites & Notes: HISP 304 or equivalent.
