PSYC 412 - Seminar in Asian American PsychologyFC SSCI CD WADV 4 credits This course will examine the psychology of Asian Americans. Students will learn about general trends of the “Asian American” group as well as how intersecting identities contribute to diverse experiences within the community. Throughout the semester, the foundational concepts of race, ethnicity, and culture will be connected to Asian Americans’ experiences at individual, interpersonal, and institutional levels. Major goals of this course include understanding individuals in their multiple contexts and reflecting upon one’s own positionality. Prerequisites & Notes: PSYC 200 and one additional PSYC course at the 200 level, or permission of instructor.
