FCARHU4 credits This course is about American Cinema from 1966-1990, an era in which younger directors changed how movies were made and what they were about, largely, though not exclusively, from within the shell of Old Hollywood. Students will study the late 1970s and early 1980s in which “indie,” or independent cinema, became an important factor in American movies, marked by filmmakers working outside the Hollywood system, especially women and Black directors.
