FCARHUWINTPRAX4 credits Screenwriting Lab is an intro-level screenwriting course. Intensive reading and watching of diverse works, teaching students key elements and strategies for crafting original television and film scripts. Through weekly assignments, students learn to develop story ideas and concepts, create characters, build narrative structure, and explore themes. Through critical reading, active class discussion and writing exercises, students practice the various stages of the screenwriting process. Later in the semester, students will break into small self-led groups to offer constructive feedback about student screenplays in progress. Primarily for first years; first-semester first years wishing to study with CRWR can only take our 100-level courses. Upperclasspersons may be considered during add/drop.
