NSCI 114 - The intertwined history of neuroscience and computer science
FCNSMA4 credits This course explores the simultaneous historical development of neuroscience and computer science. Did you know that batteries and the electrical nature of muscular contraction were discovered in the same experiment? Did you know that the Artificial Intelligence revolution was triggered by a simplified model of brain function? We will explore how two very different sciences influence each other, hopefully learning something of how computers and brains work, how they are similar, and how they differ.
