HCCNDP2 credits This class is an introduction of basic acting processes utilizing musical theater material. We will use the story-telling works of various writers to apply fundamental skills of the performance of Music Theater repertoire. Students explore song interpretation, self-presentation and specific acting choices in solo form. In addition, this course aims to provide the musical theater acting student with a basic working knowledge of the craft of acting. The objectives of this course are to develop the ability to behave truthfully in an imagined set of given circumstances; to apply the principal of moment-to-moment truth; and to begin the process of incorporating lived experience into the artists’ work. Intended for Music Theater Majors.
