APST 145 - Special Topics in Improvisation and Creative Music
HCCNDP2 credits Special Topics in Improvisation and Creative Music is a seminar that addresses specific approaches, influential figures, and scholarship of improvised and creative music. Course objectives include (1.) the development and understanding of improvisation skills and compositional approaches within contemporary and open-form idioms; (2.) knowledge of influential figures and scholarship in the areas of Free/Contemporary Improvisation and Creative Music; (3.) informed application of the topic to the student’s own artistic practice. Topics to be announced. May be repeated for credit.
