The development of therapeutic drugs is an interdisciplinary effort that can have profound impacts on our health and our society. This course will explore the science of drug development, with a focus on introducing the underlying chemistry and biochemistry concepts, as well as societal implications and unintended consequences such as the opioid crisis.

This course is appropriate for new students.
