ARST 824 - Intermediate Painting: Process and Content
FCARHU4 credits This course provides a journey of self-discovery, encouraging students to develop personal visual language through hands-on, process-focused approaches to painting. Over the semester, students will produce a series of paintings, works on paper, and written reflections. They will engage with readings on contemporary painting practices and participate in presentations, while dedicating ample time to painting. The course fosters a mindset of experimentation, encouraging students to embrace chance and failure as essential components of their creative process. By exploring a variety of techniques, students will uncover meanings and narratives in their work, all while critically engaging with their research and ideas.
