FCSSCIWINT4 credits What are supply chains? They bring us our phones, our computers, the clothes we wear, the food we eat, the materials we build our homes and cities with. They shape our lives, yet they remain largely unseen. They are powerful but mostly invisible. This course pulls back the curtain on global supply chains to reveal their inner workings, their fraught histories, and their complex political entanglements. Reading deeply across the social sciences and humanities and watching documentary films, we will explore the technologies, networks, environments, and people that make supply chains work. We’ll also practice reading and writing, and talking about our reading and writing.
