FREN 940 - Poetry & Protest in the Streets: Paris 1968FC ARHU CD WADV 4 credits In this writing-intensive, French-taught course, we will retrace the steps of student and worker revolutionaries on the streets of Paris, a crucial site for the cultural transformation that emerged in 1968, a turning point for the 20th century worldwide. We will focus on France and study conflict and change in Algeria, Senegal, and Vietnam through literature, theory, theatre, and film. This course is held in Paris, and enrollment is limited to Oberlin-in-Paris program participants.
Prerequisites: Two courses at the 300-level after 301 or 302.
