FYSP 140 - Slow Thinking: Walking, Moving, WritingFC ARHU WINT 4 credits This seminar invites students to explore the relationship between movement, thought, and writing. Inspired by Frédéric Gros’s A Philosophy of Walking, we will examine how walking-and other forms of slow, deliberate movement-open pathways to reflection, creativity, and social critique. Through readings, multimedia forms, walking journals, analytical essays, and open discussions, students will practice “slow thinking,” cultivate interdisciplinary inquiry, and consider how embodied experiences shape intellectual life, personal growth, and civic engagement.
