PSYC 021 - Data Analysis in R Studio - From SPSS to AI-Enhanced CodingHC NSMA 2 credits This hands-on course introduces students to the fundamentals of programming and data analysis using R and RStudio, with a focus on transitioning from SPSS to R. Building on knowledge from Research Methods, students will learn core coding skills, including data manipulation, visualization, and statistical analysis in R. Emphasis will be placed on translating existing SPSS syntax and workflows into R code, allowing students to replicate and extend their previous analyses. In addition, the course introduces students to emerging AI tools that can assist with coding and statistical reasoning in R. By the end of the course, students will be able to perform psychological data analyses using R confidently, understand the logic of programming, and utilize AI to enhance their research workflows. This course is reserved for psychology majors only.
Prerequisites: PSYC 200.
