GLBH 200 - Global Women’s HealthFC NSMA WINT 4 credits This course is an overview of historical and current issues in global women’s health. We will examine the biological, personal, socioeconomic, cultural, ethical, and political factors affecting women’s health around the world and across the lifecycle. Sources will include scientific articles, multinational agency reports, white papers, trusted news reports, and literature. Students will learn through discussions, team projects, debates, and interviews with practitioners in the field. Students will be assessed by class participation, reflection pieces, and group projects, such as a mock grant proposal or design of a public health media campaign about a particular women’s health issue.
This course is appropriate for new students.
