BUSI 231 - Marketing for the Solo Entrepreneur

This course teaches applied marketing through the experience of developing a comprehensive marketing plan for a product/service launch. Students should come to this course with their own product concept they are prepared to use. Students will learn to create an offer, budget, target segments, build a competitive assessment, develop pricing, and specify a go-to-market strategy.  Outside the classroom there will be research, reflection, interviews, and conversations to refine and iterate the plan.  They will get practice in communicating their thoughts through written and verbal means and leveraging the attributes of a successful businessperson.  Upon completion, successful students will have a viable marketing plan and the next steps to launch it.

Prerequisites: BUSI 103 or BUSI 130 or BUSI 250 or BUSI 104.
