EVSS 490 - Sustainable Urban Design PracticumFC SSCI 4 credits This course explores the intersection of urban design, environmental systems, and social equity in practice. Building on concepts from EVSS 390, students will develop skills in urban analysis and design while examining how cities can function as regenerative ecosystems. Through hands-on exercises, field work, and a collaborative design project focused on Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood and Irishtown Bend, students will investigate urban hydrology, green infrastructure, carbon-neutral construction, sustainable infrastructure systems, and environmental justice solutions. Field trip(s) required. This course is reserved for third years and above. Recommended preparation: EVSS 390.
