Africana Studies Minor

The minor consists of a minimum of 5 full courses (or the equivalent).

Note: Students must earn minimum grades of C- or P for all courses that apply toward the minor.

Summary of Requirements

Students are required to take at least one full course (or the equivalent) in each of the department’s three content fields (African, African American, and Caribbean).
Students are required to take at least one full course (or the equivalent) in three of the department’s five specialization fields (education, fine arts, history, literature, and politics).
Courses may simultaneously fulfill the content requirement and the specialization requirement.
