HIST 299 - Introduction to Historical MethodsFC SSCI WADV 4 credits This course is designed to introduce history majors to a range of problems, debates, and critical practices in the discipline of history. The class will examine different schools of historical thought, explore the idea of the archive and examine many different kinds of sources for historical research, consider methods and models of constructing historical interpretations, and investigate ethical issues related to historical research and writing. History majors should aim to take this course in the spring of their sophomore year or the fall of their junior year.
