FCARHUWINT4 credits Humans understand their relationship to the larger environment and its other inhabitants in a variety of complex ways. This course examines several of the religious, philosophical, and scientific schools of thought in environmental ethics. In addition to considering the diverse array of positions one can take toward the environment (e.g., animal rights, land ethics, nature religions, and ecofeminism), this course also considers such in-depth topics as environmental justice, climate change, anthropocentrism, and sustainability.
