CHIN 456 - Development of the Chinese Language

This course is intended primarily for students who have completed 400-level Chinese or equivalent. It seeks to further improve reading and writing skills by introducing the history of Chinese language and the evolution of Chinese characters. In addition, it will introduce basic Chinese language and teaching pedagogy as well as applied linguistics.

Prerequisites: one 400-level Chinese language course.
