ECON 245 - Health EconomicsFC SSCI QFR 4 credits Health care economics is the study of how resources are allocated to the production of health care and the distribution of that care. The course will look at the conflict between the provision of high-quality, universal health care and health care cost containment; the pros and cons of using markets to distribute health care; and the institutional features of the markets for health insurance, medical education, hospitals, ethical drugs, and medical innovation and technology.
Prerequisites: ECON 101.
