ARBC 213 - Shared Languages Program: Conversational ArabicFC ARHU CD 4 credits This is a Shared Languages Program (SLP) course taught by Dr. Hisam Elaqad at Denison University and taken through Zoom technology. The course offers intensive training in conversational skills and aims to enhance students oral proficiency from intermediate-mid to advanced-mid level based on ACTFL standards. We will use the communicative integrated approach which integrates the two Arabic varieties: Modern Standard Arabic and educated spoken Arabic. Students will practice conversational skills through daily briefings, discussions, and oral presentations. Students will build vocabulary through a source textbook. Supplementary audiovisual materials and the Internet will deepen students understanding of both language and culture.
Prerequisites: three semesters of Arabic.
