A study of the life and works of the composer. Selected compositions will be examined by considering such aspects as compositional sketches, stylistic development, performance practices, and cultural environment. Recommended Preparation: one 200-level course in music history.

Prerequisites: ESOL 130 (for students in ESOL sequence).
