An advanced project of directed research into an opera (its sources, period, libretto, and composer) culminating in a major paper. Concurrent enrollment in OPTH 404 or OPTH 405 subject to approval of instructor. Recommended Preparation: OPTH 404 and/or OPTH 405.

Prerequisites: OPTH 305 or OPTH 306.
