LEAD 375 - Career Readiness for Musicians

This course will cover a range of practical topics for students pursuing a career in music covering a broad array of career readiness skills. Students will be introduced to bio and resume management, writing a cover letter, strategies to researching potential employment opportunities, designing a portfolio career, long-term planning to achieve personal goals, financial literacy, grants and fundraising, community engagement, and more. These topics will be covered through readings, in-class lectures and activities, guest speakers, and assignments to culminate in a final project portfolio. Open to students in both the college and conservatory.
