POLT 234 - Critical Theory and Its LegaciesFC SSCI 4 credits This course explores the origins and trajectories of critical social theory: a form of social-scientific inquiry that, following Marx, seeks to be simultaneously descriptive and normative, understanding the world in which we live in order to change it. Beginning with Marx and the theorists of the Frankfurt School, the course tracks the various iterations and permutations of critical theory down to the present day.
