DANC 140 - Somatic Meditation and BreathworkHC ARHU 2 credits This experiential course is designed to help students improve attention, auditory processing, and memory. Students will be introduced to meditative practices which will lessen anxiety and deepen connection to body, mind, and imagination. By observing patterns of breath, thought, and sensation, one can bring about profound shifts in self-awareness, which can enhance one’s ability to learn and retain new information. These weekly classes will be centering, grounding, and stress-relieving. Homework will consist of readings, podcasts, and/or videos from world-renowned meditation teachers, as well as guided and self-guided meditations.
This course is appropriate for new students.
