FCARHUWINT4 credits How have the internet and screen media shifted theater’s role in society, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic? How do theater and performance capture attention in a media landscape that many psychologists argue has reshaped audience attention spans? Aimed to connect students interested in theater, music, and dance with students interested in technology, this course will introduce students to frameworks for analyzing and creating live performance in a media-saturated culture. Students will read plays and watch video performances that investigate our relationship to the internet, and they will create original performances that investigate their relationship to digital media.
