FYSP 045 - How To Use Your Body to Survive College (and Write Brilliant Essays)FC ARHU WINT 4 credits What does breathing have to do with attention? How can we use our vision to understand point of view? What can our bones teach us about the structure of a paper? What does it feel like to ‘take a stand’ on a contentious issue? Bridging the mind and body divide so pervasive in academia, this course centers the phenomenology of embodied experience as the ground for critical writing. We will explore a series of perceptual exercises and writing practices that will help students craft thoughtful essays on a variety of contemporary topics.
